Salvation 101

Who are sinners?

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God –Romans 3:23

Are there consequences for being a sinner?

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord—Romans 6:23

Why does God want me saved?

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance— 2 Peter 3:9

How did God make salvation available to me?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life—John 3:16

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me—John 14:6

So how do I do it?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation—Romans 10:9-10

Once I am saved, what does God expect of me?

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost—Matthew 28:19

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another—John 13:34-35

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. – 1 Peter 1:15-16
